Model card
A model card is a short, standardized document describing a model's intended use, performance across groups, limitations, and known risks.
What matters
Publishing this information helps anyone considering using the model understand its appropriate scope and limitations, without needing to test it themselves from scratch.
Example
A model card for a translation model might disclose that it performs noticeably worse on a specific low-resource language than on the languages it was mainly evaluated on.
Common misconception
A model card is not a marketing document meant to highlight only strengths; its value depends on honestly reporting real limitations and known failure modes too.
Recall question
Why does a model card need to include limitations, not just strengths, to be useful?
