System card
A system card documents an entire deployed system, including how its models, data, and human processes work together, not just one model in isolation.
Prerequisite: Dataset datasheet
What matters
Because real-world behavior depends on the whole sociotechnical system, documenting just the model in isolation can miss how surrounding processes shape its actual effects.
Example
A system card for a content-moderation product might describe not just the model, but also the appeal process and the human review team overseeing its decisions.
Common misconception
A system card is not the same as a model card; a model card describes one model, while a system card covers the full deployed system it operates within.
Recall question
Why might documenting just a model, without the surrounding system, be incomplete?
